The second section was the transit point,
    no-mans land. |

Many strange plants stood on either side of the little path that crossed it sideways
(parallel to the house). The colors always seemed strange to me, as if the plants were
themselves undecided as to their proper role in this world. |

    | Some of them were spiky and full of thorns, which also made this little
area difficult to cross and a perfect hiding place in games of hide-and-seek (they
cant find you where they wont look). |

Many secret encounters transpired in this area, many
    betrayals. |

  |

    | The soldier who had seemed so trustworthy while standing on
the "chipilin" tree here would turn out to be a double agent for the bad guys. |

  |

  |
The wounded hero would find help coming from the most unlikely
sources, from creatures that had been hidden from human eyes for ages, coming out to be of
help when they heard the heros screams of pain. |

    | In times of trouble, temporary alliances would be forged
between blood sworn enemies in order to find a way out of this inhospitable area. |

  |

    | Magic rituals were enacted away from the disapproving eyes of society and
the overlooking governors of the tree. |
